MAWMAW LOTTS YEAST ROLLS

Hello, and good morning. Thank you for following my blog. I hope and pray it gives you inspiration. Today, I am starting to list some of my favorite recipes for home cooking. My first love is BREAD!!!! I could live on bread and butter alone. My mother and Granny made home made loaves of bread and so I wanted to try my hand at it. With the help of my ex-step-sister-in-law Kimberly(we laugh and seriously do call each other that every time we see each other) and her Mawmaw Lott. Remember the days of no fuss, no gadgets needed cooking??? Don't stress over using yeast, killing yeast, or no rising yeast. I promise you that if I can do this it has to be super easy peasy!!Well here goes a recipe with the most easy peasy best tasting yeast rolls recipe ever created. These rolls will melt in your mouth!!! I will add and post pictures when I am able since I am post-op right now.

INGREGIENTS:
5 cups Self-Rising Flour
1 cup Sugar
2- 1/4 ounce packages of yeast
1/4 cup oil
2 eggs
2 cups warm water( doesn't feel hot or cold when you pour some on your wrist)

Put the flour, sugar, and yeast together in a big bowl and mix real good with a whisk.
Add the oil, eggs, and warm water to the bowl and mix together. I usually end up using my hand since this will be a wet batter.
There is 2 ways I do the 1st rise depending on if I need the rolls for supper or the next days meal.
OPTION 1 QUICK RISE- Cover the bowl with clear wrap like saran wrap, set the bowl in the sink that's got enough warm water that goes half way up the bowl for about 30-45 minutes.
Cover the bowl with a hand towel on top of the saran wrap that you have dipped in the warm water and wrung all the extra water out.
OPTION 2- Cover the bowl with saran wrap and set in a cold oven overnight.
However you choose to do the 1st rise will work out the same.
Now that the dough has risen you also have 2 options for making the rolls.
OPTION 1- On a floured surface roll out the dough and use a biscuit cutter, or a cup. Remember these will be a bit bigger after you cook them.
OPTION 2- Dip your hands in flour, grab a blob of dough, roll it into a ball with your hands. Remember, these will be a bit bigger after you cook them.
My daughter loves the handmade non smooth uneven look of option 2.
Pour some oil in the pan your going to use to cook your rolls in.
Dip your roll in the oil as you slide it into place in the pan and flip it over. So both sides will be coated in oil.
Leave a little bit of space between the rolls so they'll have room to rise.
Let the pans of dough sit a bit and they'll rise a little bit more.
When you are ready to cook your rolls, put them in a cold oven, turn oven on to 350 degrees
for about 20 minutes.
ENJOY!!!!!
